While it may seem that all attention is driven inward, we sometimes forget that a whole world exists outside the tiny bubble that we often find ourselves in. Not necessarily a bad thing at times, (it is okay to want to keep out of the chaos that is the world) however, it can cause us to lose touch with the macro part of the world we live in. This week on The Malliard Report, Jim brings back a guest that helps fix that problem. Returning Guest and international diplomat; Arthur Lenk.
Arthur is a diplomat that is formerly an Israeli ambassador to South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mauritius, and formerly the ambassador for the Republic of Azerbaijan. He has also served as the director for the Department of International Law in the Office of the Legal Adviser of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Arthur joined the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Foreign Service cadet and participated in the Foreign Officer Training Program in 1994. In 1996 Arthur was sent to the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, India, where he served as Second Secretary for Cultural and Academic Affairs. Following his term in India, Arthur was then transferred to the Consulate General of Israel to the Southwestern United States, Los Angeles, where he served as Consul for Communications and Public Affairs until 2000. Arthur has also served as a media spokesman for many outlets such as CNN, BBC, Le Monde, and NPR, appointed to be the fourth ambassador to Azerbaijan, and was even awarded the “Outstanding Diplomat” citation all prior to his current position.
