Ran Goldman

As a parent, one of the hardest things to deal with is when our children our in pain. What is even worse is when our children are unable to tell us what and where it hurts. Be it that they are too young to speak, or just unable, nothing is more frustrating as a parent. What if there was a way that we could tell if our children were in pain, when they weren’t able to share with us? This week on The Malliard Report Jim welcomes a guest that is taking on such a challenge. Taking a leap in a direction that can certainly change the very face of pediatrics as we know it. On this episode Jim welcomes Professor Ran Goldman MD to the show. Dr. Goldman is a pediatrician/researcher/professor/published writer that is making waves in his field.
Ran D. Goldman, MD is the Chief of the Pediatric Emergency at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. He is a Pediatric Emergency Physician who was trained in Pediatrics and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and was Staff physician at SickKids for 5 years until May 2007 when he moved to Vancouver. He is the Director of the Pediatric Research in Emergency Therapeutics (PRETx) research program and concentrates on education and research in the area of evidence-based therapeutics for children with acute illness. Dr. Goldman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia and a Senior Clinical Investigator at the BC Children’s Research Institute.
